Sunshine, a teacup, and "B" takes a walk

The sun came out this morning after several gloomy, rainy days and it has been simply glorious! My kind of day! It felt so go to work outside in the sunshine, cleaning up dirty pens and buckets and feeders...everything was splattered with dirt from the three inch heavy rain storm we had just yesterday.

Thursday morning was dark and rainy too, so Poppy and I drove to Henderson. We needed a few groceries and he had some prescriptions to pick up. Hey, we should go in the Salvation Army thrift store, seeing as how we are here anyway, I said...trying to make it sound fun. Poppy doesn't enjoy thrift stores like I do. So we did and...

Guess who finally found a teacup and saucer! "She, who never finds teacups at thrift stores"!

There is a tiny chip on the saucer, but that's okay, I found it and I'm keeping it. Anyhow, it was only .49 for each piece and the little birds are so pretty...Little Wrens maybe?

Bickett ambled out the front door this morning, meowing that he would be right back...

Wait, that's him coming down the road now...

Bee, you missed the driveway.

I did?

Wow, walking makes you tired!

Guess I need to start supper. Poppy will coming in from the woods soon...well around 7:00. That makes supper time late. Oh well, what difference does it make.

Thank you, if you're still here.

Love,
Henny

  1. OH, I love the cup/saucer. Such a sweet design with the birds and a great bargain, too. Will you drink coffee, tea, chocolate or cider in your cup?
Bickett is adorable; love the way he's walking with those ears back! Glad he is comfortably back at home! Enjoy your evening with Poppy.

  2. I love the cup and saucer!! That is so cute! Sweet Bickett out taking a walk is sweet also. Since grandma Myrtie passed away her kitty starting living at her son's house. His name is Tom and he is a handsome kitty. I will try to write a blog about him.
    Love you bunches.

  4. What a sweet little cup and saucer, I'd say you are correct about it being a little wren.
Bickett looks as if he is on a mission, he's such a beautiful boy !
Enjoying these cooler days here too, cool in the mornings, but at least it warmed up later today.
    Autumn....I just love it :)

  7. I wouldn't trust my dog to make it back home. In her youth, she'd always try to escape to explore the outside world.

  8. Looks like Bickett took a long walk---out though the woods and back down the road. That would tire anybody out! I don't blame him for sacking out for a bit after all that trailing around.

We've had some bits of rain and lovely cool weather. Nights in the 50's----love it. I've broken out my flannel jammies----oh so soft and comfy!

  12. Wow, that was a lot of rain you got. We get a lot of rain in a year, but rarely storms like that. I was picking veggies for the market in the rain today, not fun! Hard to believe you had a hard time finding a tea cup and saucer, there are so many of them here. It's a pretty set, for sure.
