Another fast day!

Dear Friends,

I have about fifteen minutes here before Poppy gets home. This is his late night...works til 7:00. Supper is ready and waiting.

It has been twelve hours since my feet hit the floor this morning. I do believe this is the first time I've actually sat down during this twelve hours...well except for driving in to town to grocery shop and buy feed.

It's been a sunny but cold and very windy day. A good day for taking the bedspreads and quilts off the bed and hanging them on the clothesline to sun. That was my first job this morning, and probably what got me going. Then the curtains hanging on the french doors, well I just had to wash those dirty things...I don't know what struck me but I even dusted the dining room chairs and china cabinet.

It was in the midst of my cleaning frenzy, that the neighbor called and asked if I would mind moving my car out of the driveway...that he had raked up two more truck loads of pine straw.  Wow! That's five loads, and I have a place for it all! These last two loads will cover the entire goat lot...wonder how that will look? For sure better than the leaves and Mr. Eli's big feet will stay clean. The goat lot is where Eli plays.

Somebody put Smokey's mouse in the bowl on the coffee table...

Probably Poppy, again.

Better get busy.  :)

Thank you for putting up with me. Hope to be back soon...with something a little more interesting to talk about.

Love,
Henny

  1. Isn't that the way it goes? You start in cleaning one thing and before you get done you've seen another thing nearby that " you might as well get while you're at it". It's like a freight train that gets up a good head of steam and is hard to stop.

It's been cold here today but sunny. Snow is expected tomorrow night and on through Sunday afternoon. Luckily we will only get about 2 inches whereas up north of Indy they may get as much as 9 inches. We haven't had much snow at all this year which makes up for all of the mess of last winter.

I have iris and daffodils poking their noses out so spring is coming if slowly. I always feel like February is the hardest month to get through because I'm so ready for spring and if I can only get to March I can really see some definite signs of spring and can get outside and do a little bit of yard cleanup.

  4. You sure do get a lot done in a day, with even time to take cute pics of Smokey. You must be supercharged.

  5. Hey Henny, I have a subscription to Mother Earth News over here in UK ! I love it, full of ideas and inspiration, but none of it applies to me now I am living in suburbia ! but I'm not done yet - I WILL get back to the country and in the meantime I dream.
    Love the pictures of Smokey.

  6. I really enjoy your quick posts. It's as though I've been on a stroll and just popped my head in your door for a quick hello.

  7. I've had a yard full of cardinals today and haven't gotten anything done because I just want to watch them! They look like Christmas tree ornaments in the trees and bushes in the very gloomy day. Smokey looks very intent on getting his Mousie out of the bowl. Poppy is a tease!
